Another Truckin' Adventure

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

So a lot has happened since my last post, a lot. All great stuff really- the Holidays were nothing short of amazing, McKenna brought so much happiness and joy. The man and I both got another year older this month- best birthdays with our little bean with us. Everything seems to be the best with her around, a love like no other.

A few things to record- Mom and Dad went out for the first time together in seven months without Little Miss. G drives truck and works his toosh off so when he's home we all like to spend it together. But we did go out for lunch on his birthday without our little and we had a great time. We could talk for hours. We were silly, laughed, had a few beers. We looked at pictures of the little when she was like... tiny- how does time go by so fast. I will continue to cherish our time together, G and I are continuously learning, adapting, changing, accommodating our parenting as well as our relationship. But what will forever grow deeper is our love for one another and this life we are building, I know, I'm quite a sap, but proud of it. I'm a big lover of love.

Other few fun things, I got a camera for Christmas (so much for sticking to that Christmas budget G), so my obsession of picture taking has reached a whole new level. I'd recommend this camera all day for any photos, a Canon Rebel T5- it rocks. I'm working on my picture taking skills, it's easy when you have such a beautiful babe to photograph.

I also went out for a girls night this month! My Best came out this way and we met for a drink and an app on her (Thanks Melis!) and Dad was home with beans- got her to bed and everything! It was so perfect. Melis also got engaged- SO SO excited for all that fun. I'm also so happy she's so happy. Maybe someday I'll have enough time to make a post about us- 14 years of memories and still making the best ones yet.

Which leads me here to- another trucking adventure. I couldn't just hop right in knowing I've missed blogging so much of the past few months.

Hopped in the truck with G last night to head to NY. With our little in tow. It's so neat to see the difference in her trucking experiences as she grows. She's mobile now and eating solids so Momma had to get a little creative on the packing. We're on our way back home and she's been nothing but wonderful. I have to share one item that we have LOVED with her. Those mesh food holders- awesome. We've put cantaloupe in it for her to suck on, ice cubes, breast milk cubes- she loves that darn thing- would highly recommend it. Takes away the worry of choking and gives you some hands free baby time. Even when we go out to eat, eat at home- put her down and give her that with cantaloupe in it and she sucks it down to nearly nothing.

She's eating puréed fruits and veggies now, three times a day. I've puréed my own fruits and veggies but darn it- are those pouch things just so convenient. McKennas current favorite is a mixture of pears, mangos and spinach. Just peas on the other hand, weren't so much of a hit- we seem to only really like veggies when it's mixed with fruit, smart little lady.

She's so interactive. We actually had a first purposeful waving experience to Daddy in the front seat this morning. We all slept pretty good considering.  G keeps the truck nice and toasty for us. I'll buckle her in her car seat put her up front with Daddy and she'll fall asleep- leaving me some time to do this in the back or catch some zzzs myself. I brought a bunch of different toys that she likes- we pass the time by playing, eating, reading, tearing up Daddy's paperwork, talking, making future plans. How do we not get bored in the truck? We talk, we laugh, we play. We put fingerprints on daddy's windows and misplace all his things, I promise you he loves it, most of the time. I try to make sure everything gets put back, he's a good sport for taking us ladies along. It really is special time with each other- we cherish every moment we get together. We have too much fun just being silly.

As we head home, I was so excited to get another post up. I'll try to be better at it. Maybe even adding in some everyday things- cooking, exercising, baby activities and of course pictures! But these past few months have flown by. It's like we've been put in a fast forward moving time machine. Trying to take it all in, every moment at a time.
